Planning Ahead – Some Things To Look Forward To

The staff planning retreat was great!  We got a lot done, had some fun, ate way too much, celebrated Brad’s upcoming wedding and have a firm grasp on what’s left to come this year.  I’m telling you right now, you don’t want to miss any of it, but make plans now to be at Discovery this fall.

Many of you probably already know about the soon-to-come future.  Surprise guests on June 6 and joining a global movement with OnePrayer and Compassion International through the fourth of July.  Then we’ll tackle some of the topics that often get avoided in church, but show up in the newspaper, magazines and even as causes on Facebook.  We’ll be inviting some people to come speak on those topics into August.

As ECU and school gets ready to start in August, we’ll be going back to the 80’s to frame our next discussion (that’s all I can say right now, but it should be fun).  And then, it gets amazing….as in The Amazing Race!

Start training now, because in September we’ll be going through 2 Timothy, encouraging people to get connected to a small group (or team in this case), and running a contest – The Amazing Race style, where the winning group wins a weekend getaway as a group at an amazing house in the mountains (where the leaves will be changing color).  This is going to be AMAZING!

Of course, we’ve got a few other things planned too – a series on the Trinity, a study through James, Christmas and stuff we just can’t tell you about yet.

Thanks for the prayers while we were gone planning.  I feel refreshed, encouraged, and excited about what God has been doing and what he’s going to be doing later this year.  Get ready!
